Advanced Nurse Practitioners are registered nurses who have completed extra training and academic qualifications, to master’s level, to be able to clinically assess, diagnose, refer and treat patients who present with undiagnosed or undifferentiated problems.
They can assess symptoms, treat minor health problems, infections, and minor injuries and prescribe medications where necessary. They can also manage more complicated and complex problems, including long term conditions.
